CityVille: New Buildings and Decorations usher in the Holiday season

If you thought that Zynga's CityVille was simply too new of a game to receive Holiday themed items this December, well, think again. There are now six new items available to purchase from the game's store: two businesses, one animal, and three decorative items. The only catch is that they all cost City Cash, so I hope you haven't splurged on too many things before now.

You can find all of these items by heading into the game's store, and then clicking on the blue "New" icon at the far left of the store's top menu.

Here's a full list of all of the newly added items, along with their prices and other details:

Seasonal Clothing Store - 20 City Cash - Requires 80 supplies; earns 368 coins
Hot Cocoa Shop - 15 City Cash - Requires 100 supplies; earns 441 coins
St Bernard - 5 City Cash
Gingerbread Man - 2 City Cash
Lawn Carolers - 10 City Cash
Mall Santa - 30 City Cash

It should be noted that the coins listed next to each business are their default payouts. If you add decorations around these buildings, their payouts will increase accordingly.

Also, while none of these items are marked as being limited edition, it's unusual for Zynga to leave seasonal items in a game after the holiday season concludes, so it might be a good idea to purchase these items while you know they will still be available (that is, before December 25) to be safe.

CityVille: Level cap increased to 60, Thank You gifts added, Storage issues resolved

Lately, it seems that not even a few days can go by without Zynga updating CityVille to enhance game performance, add new quests or game features, or all-around make the game a more enjoyable experience for players.

Such is the case today, as Zynga has announced a new set of upgrades and enhancements that have been added to the insanely popular city-building game. First and foremost, for those that were already nearing the level cap of level 50, you'll be happy to learn that Zynga has increased the level cap to 60, for an additional ten levels that you can play through and enjoy. It's presumable that more levels will be added in the future, but this is a nice first step from the developer nonetheless.

In addition, "Thank You" gifts have been added, so that you will now have the option of immediately sending a Thank You gift to friends when you accept gifts from them. The game has also receive an animation performance tweak to make the game run smoother overall.

Other updates include the alteration of the "Animal Gifts" quest, which is now called "Animal Farm," and has been made easier with easier requirements. Finally, Zynga has changed the time that it takes for bonus items (stars, coins, etc.) to drop when collecting from buildings for the better, so it now takes less time for this items to drop, allowing you to more quickly go about your day of running your city.

Some bug fixes have also been announced via the official CityVille forums, which have fixed some Out of Sync issues, and the loss of storage at random when visiting friends. Here's the full list:
"Saving your city"- The game will now reload after this error, preventing loss of progress. Business from inventory - Business that are obtained through other means (such as collections rewards) can now also be franchised. Certain instances of OOS errors- Resolved more issues causing OOS errors. Loss of storage when visiting neighbors - Fixed the issues that was causing storage capacity to decrease when visiting neighbors.What level have you reached in CityVille? FarmVille: Enter the Winter Holiday Decorating Contest for 500 free Farm Cash

Do you consider yourself an artist? A master of Microsoft Paint or Photoshop? Do you have a FarmVille farm that is simply overflowing with holiday cheer? Then why not earn some free Farm Cash and coins for your hard work?

Just like last year, Zynga has launched a Winter Holiday Decorating Contest in FarmVille, that will ask farmers to do their best job at decorating their farms with the massive selection of Winter Holiday items that are now available. Pictures that are submitted to the official FarmVille forums will be judged by the FarmVille team after the submission period ends on December 31.

The top ten winners will be announced on January 3, with those winners walking away with a whopping 500 Farm Cash and 500,000 coins! With the current rate of exchange between real world currency and Farm Cash coins, that's a prize of over $300 in coins, and almost $90 in Farm Cash! Not a bad prize for just decorating your farm, which can be done for free, mind you.

Need some tips on how to win? Zynga has said that they want creativity in your entries. Pictures will be judged on "originality, effort, and presentation," so use your imagination and make your entries count!

FarmVille Sneak Peek: New Year's Party Dresses, Tuxedos, and other Avatar costumes

With the official confirmation that an apparently large New Year's celebration will be coming to FarmVille before the year's end, it's only fitting that we then come across some leaked FarmVille images of some as-of-now unreleased outfits that may or may not be coming to the game in association with the event. Are these the items that Community Manager Lexilicious hinted at in the latest FarmVille podcast?

All of these items are costume pieces for your in-game avatar, and don't worry - both girl and boy players are represented here. From left to right, we believe the items will be called: Silver Tuxedo, Black Tuxedo, Silver Top Hat, Black Top Hat, Black Tiara, Silver Tiara, Black Party Dress, Green Party Dress, Gold Party Dress, Purple Party Dress, Red Party Dress, Silver Party Dress, Snowman Costume, and Polar Bear Costume.

Sure, the Snowman and Polar Bear costumes seem to be unrelated to the New Year's event, but they are cute new additions that we hope will be released in the game nonetheless.

As usual, we don't know for certain as to whether these items will make actual appearances in the game, or how much they'll cost, so keep that in mind. We'll be sure to let you know, however, when and if they do.

FrontierVille Holiday Free Gifts: Large Wreath, Fence with Garland, Fruitcake now available

For the first time in a very, very long time, Zynga has updated the free gifts page in FrontierVille to offer a trio of new Winter Holiday items that you can now send to your friends, just as you would any other free gift.

Two of these items are decorative, and come in the form of a Large Wreath, and a Fence with Farland. The Large Wreath is just that - a large decorated wreath that has been placed on top of a tall stick, so that you don't have to worry about finding a "wall" to place the wreath on. The Fence with Garland item, meanwhile, is a simple brown, wooden fence (the most basic in the game), that happens to have green and red garland wrapped around the top and sides.

As for the Fruitcake, it is an energy item, which will reward you with 15 energy points each time you "eat" one. This is done in the same way that you use Lunches, Light Snacks, and the like, in that you can simply head into your inventory and use the item with a single click of the mouse.

The Engine and The Patriot

The Engine is needed to build a "Limited Time" Vehicle that popped up in the Chop Shop -- all the way on the left end (the suggestion above to "be on the lookout" makes sense since you usually see new Chop Shop items at the RIGHT end of the row...)

It's called the Patriot and you'll want as many of them as you can get while they're around. With its 53A/68D stats, it is one of the few collectible Vehicles that beats the Foo Fighter on Defense. And you get two Defense stat points for each one you build.

Mafia Wars Fight Loot: Best of the Best

If there's one thing I learned during Mafia Wars 2x Fight Loot Weekend, it's that the best job Loot from Las Vegas and Italy (to date) is NOT the best collectible Loot in Mafia Wars.

Now, there's Fight Club Loot and Loyalty Program Loot, plus some impressive Italy Village Port Loot to discuss in an upcoming post this week. And there's always some "limited-edition" high-stat items you can buy in the Marketplace or obtain through a game card.

We all know that the gang over at Zynga have never been stingy when it comes to providing the players of their top social network game, Mafia Wars with new and exciting events. Today we are going to learn about one of the most current events, the Mafia Wars Cake Jailbreak event.

Here is the official Zynga take on the event.

You can have your cake and eat it too with the upcoming Cake Jailbreak event! You’ll have a limited time to collect different cakes from your mafia to earn awesome new mastery items. You’ll be working on 3 cakes filled with escape tools to get out of jail. Each cake will have 3 levels of mastery for you to complete. As you finish one level, you’ll move on to a more challenging level. Get on your Mafia’s good side and have them send you as many cakes as you can get your hands on!

The Birthday Cake, Wedding Cake, and Cupcakes will be unlocked one at a time and available to send from your free gifts page. Help your friends out during the event by sending these special desserts their way so they’ll reap the sweet rewards as well. Once you master all 3 cakes through the gold level, you’ll be rewarded with the grand prize for your efforts.

Events in Mafia Wars have always been fun and in most cases provided some very nice equipment that you can use to strengthen your mafia and the Mafia Wars Cake Jailbreak event does not disappoint in this area either.

The event can be replayed a total of three times after mastery. Here is list of the rewards that you will earn playing Cake Jailbreak in Mafia Wars. Each item will increase in attack and defense value as you complete the different levels.

Recently we saw the following official announcement from the folks at Mafia Wars.

Stay tuned, Mafia Wars Fans – It’s almost time to “Forge Your Destiny” and celebrate the Armory! New items will be added to the Armory and for 5 days, build 2 limited time Armory items called the Pantheon Tactical Plate and the Crimson Iron Chest Plate. This isn’t the heavy metal of the 1980’s. You’ll need special parts called Tech Plates to get the job done. Give and receive Tech Plates with free Tech Plate gifts and your news feeds. To get this event started, the Godfather will supply you with enough Armory parts to upgrade your Armory one level. The Armory crafting timer will also be cut in half so you will have plenty of opportunities to build your Man of Steel!

Events are a big part of the Mafia Wars universe and they are a great way to get your paws on some very nice equipment. The Forge Your Destiny event adds 5 items to the Armory, 2 temporary and 3 permanent. The advantages of the items in this event are very great indeed.

If you have been playing mafia Wars for any length of time you undoubtedly realize that the major aspect of the game is its social nature. Dominating the criminal underworld is fun, but it is made more enjoyable when it is done with friends.

Mafia Wars encourages group participation through the use of social missions that allows you to involve your mafia in your criminal exploits. Most of the social missions require a varying number of helpers, have a time limit, provide loot for all involved, and give the mission host an additional reward.

Since we have entered into the Christmas Season, or Holiday Season if you prefer, it is time for the Secret Santa Social mission. I thought I would break the entire mission down for you.

There have been many different kinds of crates available in Mafia Wars since the game emerged on the social network gaming scene. The newest version of the crate is the Armor Plated Crate.

Like all crates they are purchased from the Marketplace with Godfather Points (Reward Points). At the time of this writing the cost was 12 points for one crate or 35 points for three.

The chance of getting a each rarity is the same in both single and 3 crate purchases.

Zynga introduced the Private Zoo to the Mafia Wars game on December 10, 2010. The Private Zoo is a non-cash generation property in New York. What it lacks in currency income is made up by providing you with animals that can boost your in game strength.

To set up your Private Zoo you will need the following building materials.

While the Secret Drop has been part of the Mafia Wars universe since September 23, 2010 many people simply do not understand it and think of the opportunity to set up a secret drop as another annoying pop-up that distracts from the game.

Mafia Wars Secret Stash

I have been getting a number of questions asking if I have any information on the . While I do not know a great deal about it I am happy to share what I do know.

The Secret Stash appears randomly after completing a job or winning a fight.When you find a Secret Stash you will be allowed to pick from a choice of three items.After you have chosen your reward you can share the stash with up to 5 of your friends.You can open Secret Stashes that are sent to you by friends.You can only open a total of 10 per day.There are two types of Secret Stash, jobs and fights.Only one person can open a stash found in a fight.

Types of loot

While I do not know the exact loot that is available (I honestly don’t think anyone does), I can tell you that the types are given away by the various news feed icons. The ones I have seen so far include:

The only thing that I do not remember seeing is the animal category.

Like I said I don’t know a lot about the Secret Stash, but I will post more as I learn more.

FrontierVille: You can now sell directly from your Inventory, menus now hold your place

Two very appreciated technical adjustments launched in FrontierVille this week, and both of them can be seen in action via your in-game Inventory.

First and foremost, you can now sell items directly from your inventory. Yes, that's right, one feature that users have been clamoring for since the game first launched has finally been added. No longer will you have to open your inventory and manually drag item after item out onto your Homestead, only to sell them in an extra step - you can now click on the small pile of coins next to those items that can be sold, to see a small menu pop up that will confirm that you do in fact want to sell the item.

Cafe World Holiday Tree: Everything you need to know

If you thought this week's release of the Holiday Dinner catering order would be the end of the Holiday celebration in Cafe World, then Zynga has released a new feature today that is sure to surprise you. The new item is the Holiday Tree, which, like every other buildable in Cafe World, starts out as a simple tree, sans decorations, and must be "constructed" by adding various ingredients to the tree, like lights, bells, and of course, ornaments.

You'll need the help of friends to put this tree together, but it will be worth it, as users that finish building the tree will have a chance at earning free bundles of coins or even free Cafe Cash every single day from December 24 to January 5 just for doing so.

My Shops on Facebook: Why build just one store, when you can build them all?

While there are plenty of Facebook games that allow you to start managing a single kind of business or store (a restaurant, a clothing store, electronics store, and so on), what if you were instead given a game where you could create an entire "Shopping Street," rather than just a single store? Pretty Simple Games will allow you to make that hypothetical scenario into a reality, with their Facebook game My Shops.

The game launched in the middle of November, and has since grown to almost 140,000 users - not bad for a game from a little-known developer, in a genre that is already quite full. Earn 2 free FarmVille Farm Cash in Yogi Bear promotion

Hey farmers! Want to earn two free Farm Cash in FarmVille, for doing nothing more than a few clicks? Of course you do! That's why Zynga has joined forces with Warner Bros. to offer a new promotion in FarmVille concerning Warner Bros. new film Yogi Bear. I guess we can see the connection here - Yogi Bear lives in nature in Jellystone Park, and FarmVille takes place in nature - sure, it works.

Either way, if you'd like to participate in this new promotion, simply head to the bottom of the FarmVille gameplay area and click on the "Sponsored Link" image as seen at the right side of this post. Note: If you have other Farm Cash promotions that you have not yet participated in, you may not see this newest one until you have completed those, thus "clearing the way" for the new promotion to appear, as it were.

From there, you'll load a new window where you are asked to share your favorite location to have a "pic-a-nic," a nod to the Bear's famous wording of "Picnic." After submitting your answer, you'll know that you've completed the activity and earned your Farm Cash when the top right corner of this new window loads text that tells you outright that you've earned your Farm Cash.

Activity completed, simply close the Yogi Bear window and your FarmVille game should automatically update to reflect your 2 new Farm Cash. However, if it doesn't, a simple refresh of the game should do the trick.

CityVille: Inventory limit increased, some quests are now easier to complete

Proving that they don't want to let their long-term, or even new fans down, Zynga has released another set of tweaks and alterations for their newest game, the city-building game called CityVille.

Most importantly, the first change sees an increase in each user's maximum inventory from the base of 100 items (this includes all items, from energy and decorative free gifts to Zoning Permits, building materials and so on) to a whopping 250 items of space - that's 150 additional items that you can now store for future use! While it might seem unreasonable for users to have that many items on hand at once, with so many free gifts being passed around, we definitely appreciate the higher cushion. Even if we never reach the 250 item limit ourselves, its nice to not have to worry about running out of room anytime soon.

In addition, some quests have been altered slightly in the game. Starting with the Cinema Investment Quest (which sees you unlocking access to the Cinema in your town - seems to be available to users around level 20 or above, depending on your progress with other quests), you were originally asked to collect 50,000 coins, that would apparently be taken from you once you've collected them. Now, though, the amount of coins has been raised to a whopping 120,000. While this might seem like a negative change, as opposed to a positive, these coins now will not be taken from you. However, you will need 100,000 of those 120,000 coins to purchase the Cinema, so it basically evens itself out.

Other quests, like the "Feed the Fans" and "Restaurant Food" quests have been clarified or made a bit easier by the additions of hints, which is definitely appreciated. Not only that, but more causes of Out of Sync errors have been fixed, and the glitch with bonus goods received from going up a Reputation Level has also been eliminated, ensuring that all users receive the free goods that they deserve after working in friends' cities.

It's just great to see Zynga offering so much support to CityVille, especially so early on. We hope that they continue this dedication in the future, and we'll be sure to let you know how other changes will affect your gameplay experience should they arise.

FarmVille: Snow Stallions can now be placed in Stables

If you were one of the many FarmVille players affected by a recent glitch in the game, that caused your Snow Stallion to be left out in the cold, unable to be placed inside the Horse Stable, you'll be happy to know that Zynga has addressed the issue, and has announced a fix for the problem via the game's forums.

The announcement is a small one, and it simply states that "the issue was resolved" in a game update, but we'll take brevity over a longer explanation of why it may not have been possible. Luckily, this now means that those users that were waiting on purchasing a Snow Stallion for 500 presents can do so without the fear of the item being "broken" in any way.

For those that still haven't gotten their hands on a Snow Stallion, you can purchase the Horse (as we mentioned above) for 500 presents after you "overfill" the Holiday Tree's gift meter, which rests at 300 presents. You can also try your hand at the Winter Whimsy gift box, which has been confirmed to hold the Snow Stallion inside, to be given very rarely out to users (who happen to be very lucky).

Sega making cutesy Yakuza mobile social game in Japan

If Bangkok in Mafia Wars didn't satisfy your undying love of Far Eastern gangster stories, perhaps a trip to Japan is in order. Sonic the Hedgehog creator Sega is working on a mobile adaptation of their beloved Yakuza franchise. A social game that will only appear on Japan's GREE mobile social network, Yakuza Mobile takes on a visibly more... chibi look, but that's almost expected given the average screen real estate Sega is working with. (So, is this what Sega was referring to a few months ago?)

According to Silicon Era, the fictional Japanese town of "Kamurocho has been overtaken by a powerful foe, and you need to help free it." The game will require cooperation between players to help stop this enemy using the GREE social network. Yakuza Mobile is slated for a winter release in Japan, but no mentions of a U.S. port have been made... yet.

Zynga, Mafia Wars get 'Kush' with Dr. Dre in in-game promotion

C'mon, you all knew it was only a matter of time before Zynga tapped yet another wildly successful hip-hop star to pimp their gangster game, Mafia Wars. This time around, Dr. Dre has invaded Mafia Wars with "Hustlin' with Dre," a promotion to spread the word of his new hit single, "Kush." While it seems to be slowly rolling out to us virtual mobsters, players will be able to stream the video for his new jam featuring Zynga's old friend Snoop Dogg and auto tune aficionado Akon right from within the game.

Of course, it doesn't stop there. There are several Dre-inspired items to be purchased like new weapons, a vintage car and headphones, according to Tech Crunch. Collecting all the items will enter you in a contest to win an autographed of Dre's incoming album "Detox" and a set of his new Beats headphones. You can even buy the new single via a handy iTunes link on Dr. Dre's Mafia Wars page. If Snoop Dogg's recent visit to Mafia Wars is any indication--well, aside from nearly blowing it--this will probably make Zynga an approximate bajillion dollars. So, in the words of Zynga: Get to work, homie.

FrontierVille Quilting Bee Timed Mission: Everything you need to know

If amassing enough Toys to overload the Salvation Army wasn't enough for you in FrontierVille, how does a new Timed Mission sound? In "Quilting Bee," players will have four days to get all the necessary materials to make the perfect quilt. And you can probably already guess what that means:

Harvest 25 Cotton Have 25 Cloth Get 10 Sewing Needles (request from friends)
Harvesting the Cotton, a crop that costs 600 coins and is ready for harvest in three days, will be somewhat of a set-it-and-forget-it ordeal. That is, unless you forget to harvest it in time. If you're low on Cloth, visit as many friends as possible in the next four days to make sure you have enough to complete the mission. All the while keep pinging your friends for Sewing Needles, though they might be a tad too busy gathering those Toys.

Thankfully, you have until Jan. 11 2011 to accept this Timed Mission, so put it off if you feel a bit overwhelmed already. Completing this mission will reward you the fruit of your labor, a Display Quilt, in addition to 250 XP and a Lunch. And if you notice the small roman numeral next to this mission's icon, this could be just the beginning of your quilting adventures.

FarmVille Sneak Peek: Santa Cat, Yakut Horse, Silver Rabbit et al

Just in case you were ever fearful of Zynga being done with the Holidays in FarmVille, stop it. Now. FarmVille Freak has found a slew of unreleased items in the game for us to ogle. This time around, we have the Candy Cane Chicken, a beautifully colored hen with striped tail feathers, and a cute, twitchy Silver Rabbit that looks almost as if its wearing camouflage. Rounding out the list are the Yakut Horse and Foal, the unofficial Fabio of the horse world, and a fittingly festive Santa Cat with red cap and bow. While it's unsure when exactly these items will be released, I imagine they will be released sometime before Christmas considering two of these animals are holiday-themed.

FarmVille for iPhone Exclusive Holiday Cat and Elf Leopard appear

Don't think your iPhone will left out in the cold this Holiday Season in FarmVille. Thanks to FarmVille Freak, we've found two iPhone exclusive animals that have snuck their way in to help celebrate this joyous time. Log into your farm on the iPhone now and follow through to the Market to find a fat Holiday Cat and white spotted Elf Leopard. You can buy both for a whopping 50,000 coins.

While both festive felines will grant you with 500 XP, the Holiday Cat will be ready for harvest every three days while the Elf Leopard can be harvested every two. And get this, the Elf Leopard sells for a measly 300 coins while, even worse, the Holiday Cat only sells for 90. If that doesn't give the hint that these items are not to be sold, I don't know what will. Although 50,000 coins is quite a lot for a kitty, at least they don't cost Farm Cash.

Mafia Wars Hustlin' Wit Dre: Everything you need to know

For those of you looking to get in on what Dre has been dishing out in Mafia Wars--no, not what he's been rapping about lately--you'll have to wait until this weekend. Luckily, the Mafia Wars team is serving all the details now to get you prepared for what's to come. It looks like "Hustlin' Wit Dre" will be a weekend gifting event, but with better rewards all around than most including the chance for a signed copy of Dre's upcoming album titled "Detox" and pair of Beats by Dre headphones.

While not all of the details have been released, this event will likely operate similar to gifting events in the past, slowly releasing each of the three gift items over a few days. This would give us time to master each gift's corresponding item and achieve Gold Mastery. Here are all three gifts and their attached Mastery items:

Beats:
-Aftermath
-Bronze: 29 Attack, 61 Defense
-Silver: 30 Attack, 69 Defense
-Gold: 31 Attack, 77 Defense

Dr.'s Orders:
-Anesthesia
-Bronze: 61 Attack, 38 Defense
-Silver: 68 Attack, 45 Defense
-Gold: 75 Attack, 50 Defense

Certified Platinum:
-Let Me Ride
-Bronze: 30 Attack, 65 Defense
-Silver: 35 Attack, 72 Defense
-Gold: 41 Attack, 80 Defense

Mastering all three items will reward players with D.R.E., a Grand Mastery item with 140 Attack and 95 Defense. However, it appears that this item will also have three levels of Mastery. According to the Mafia Wars Blog post, Silver Mastery will give players "3x Mastery Item: Detox," which we imagine is the chance to win the singed copy of Dre's "Detox" album. Strangely enough, reaching Gold Mastery will essentially reverse D.R.E.'s stats to 108 Attack and 151 Defense, effectively giving players a choice of what purpose they want the item to serve. Keep your eyes peeled this weekend for when Dr. Dre will be bringing the "Kush" to Mafia Wars.

Galaxy X on Facebook could be social gaming's next space opera

Futuristic tunes, the cranking gears of shuffling mech tanks and massive explosions are the sounds that await you in Galaxy X, StudioEX's space combat social game. In Galaxy X, the interplanetary battle for Earth between its military and the Groob, a race of aliens from the former planet Pluto who seek to destroy the planet and restore their homeworld's honor. Though, instead of doing battle via flashy spacecraft, the Groob and Earth Guard--the name of Earth's intergalactic military--have decided that mechanized tanks would be much better for battle. You'll be able to look past the horrible lack of logic in this decision once you witness the cool factor. (Some things are better left unquestioned.)

FarmVille Holiday Limited Edition Showcase 3 [Video]

As we told you earlier today, Zynga is preparing another set of Winter Holiday limited edition items that will be released in FarmVille in the near future, and we now have a video from the developer itself to prove it. This is the "Holiday Limited Edition Showcase 3" video (what a mouthful!), and like those that came before it, it shows off a selection of these new items as they will appear once they've been added to one's farm.

In this newest video, we see the Holiday Cat that was released as an iPhone exclusive animal, along with the new Yakut Horse that we told you about earlier this afternoon. There is a horse playing in some snow, along with another item in the "Winter" building set - a true Winter Cabin perhaps? We can also see a Golden Monkey, a set of flying birds (pigeons?) and a lovely golden bridge surrounded by snow-covered trees. But what is easily the cutest item has to be the animated swing, upon which it appears that a pink Pig and a Polar Bear Cub are swinging. Everyone say "Awwww."

As of right now, we have no details as to exactly when these items will be launched in the game, or as to their prices. Some of these items could be released in the new Mystery Game this weekend, or they could be released as premium or coin items in the store - all of that is up in the air right now, but we'll be sure to let you know when more details arise.

FrontierVille Unreleased Cattle Drive Timed Mission: Everything you need to know

Get your cows ready partners! Zynga is apparently looking to add another timed mission to FrontierVille that will require you to not only own a lot of Cows, but to sell them off as well.

The new mission will apparently be called Cattle Drive, if recently discovered information and images are anything to go by. This mission, as of right now, will require you to do the following three tasks within four days of accepting the mission on your account:

Sell 20 Adult Cows
Collect 20 Rodeo Hats
Collect 20 Cattle Drive Bags of Feed

For the two items that you'll need to collect, we're assuming that both can be done by either posting a general item request on your wall, creating a "Give one, Get one" situation in which your friends can give you the item and receive one for themselves in return, or that you'll be able to send out individual gift requests to friends that you think would be most willing to help you. Since there are two different items to collect, it would make sense that there would be one item for each kind of request, but that remains to be seen at this point.

The rewards for finishing this mission within 4 days will be 250 experience points and one Horse. Sure, Horses aren't worth as much now that they've stopped giving out random bunches of 10 energy when groomed or fed, but we guess it can't hurt to have another one around to pull wagons (at least in our imaginations).

Remember, as this mission is, as of yet, unreleased, the requirements and rewards are subject to change at any time. Still, with the warning that you'll need to sell cows, make sure to take this as a warning and stock up before the mission launches!

FrontierVille Unreleased Playtime II Timed Mission: Everything you need to know

Zynga is apparently looking to continue the fun had in the recent FrontierVille timed mission called "Playtime," as they seem to be working on a follow-up to that quest entitled "Playtime II." Playtime II will also be a timed mission, just like its predecessor, and you should have 2 days after you accept the mission to complete it before it expires. Rumor has it that you'll be able to buy extra time for Horseshoes.

This mission will require you to complete three tasks:

Craft 20 Planks
Collect 10 Metal Bars
Collect 10 Wood Rasps

The Planks can be crafted inside the wagon for 7 pieces of wood and 250 coins each, while we're assuming that you'll be able to ask your friends to send you the Metal Bars and Wood Rasps, via either traditional wall posts asking for items, or individual gift requests sent to those friends that you think would be most willing to help you.

The rewards for finishing this mission are 250 experience points, 1000 coins and a See Saw decorative item (a teeter-totter, if you'd prefer, commonly seen on children's playgrounds - one my personal favorites as a kid).

We'll make sure to let you know when the mission releases in full, but until then, remember that this information is subject to change at any time, up until the point that Zynga releases it into the game. Feel free to plan ahead (crafting Planks), but do so with caution.

FarmVille: Reindeer now available through Feed Trough

For those of you that like collecting Animal Feed for your Animal Feed Trough in FarmVille, you'll appreciate the fact that Zynga has now added a new animal to the list of those available animals that will randomly walk into your small barn. The animal is the Reindeer, which has been released a free gift earlier this year, but was first seen as a full animal release in FarmVille during last year's Winter Holiday celebration.

As the Reindeer is currently unavailable to purchase in the store, and you weren't playing the game last year, you'll want to make sure to take advantage of this opportunity. You'll need to collect 20 bundles of Animal Feed to activate your Trough to draw an animal in, and you can earn feed by having your friends send it to you through gift requests, or by earning it through clicking on friends' wall posts.

Since this is a Holiday related animal, it is possible that the Reindeer will only be available to find in the Trough for a limited time. Yes, the Turkey from Thanksgiving is still available, but do you really want to take the chance of losing out on a Reindeer just because you waited too long to collect Animal Feed? No, I wouldn't either.

Make sure to fill that Animal Trough and good luck finding a Reindeer on your own farm!

FarmVille Snowman / Snowball Fight: Everything you need to know

Recently, we showed you some leaked images from FarmVille's as-of-then unreleased Snowman and Snowball Fight activities that would be coming to FarmVille this holiday season. Well, the time is now for these features to go live, as the Snowman and Snowball Fight features have now begun rolling out to users across the game.

You'll know that this feature has launched in your game when you visit your farm and see the large pop-up like the one above. This lets you know the basics of the feature - you'll be able to visit your friends' farms and start a snowball fight with them. When your friend retaliates (throws a snowball back), those snowballs will start to form enough of a mound for you to build your own Magical Snowman.

Earn 2 free FarmVille Farm Cash from Coca-Cola promotion

Keeping the tradition of free Farm Cash in FarmVille going, Zynga has launched a new cross-promotional activity with Coca-Cola, that can be found underneath the FarmVille gameplay area. This isn't the first time we've seen Zynga partner with Coca-Cola, as a Cafe World promotion was launched back in October.

At any rate, this newest FarmVille promotion will see users earning 2 free Farm Cash for completing a short activity. To begin, simply click on the Sponsored Link window, as seen at the right of this post (here is the link of the activity, if it never loads on your own game - if it doesn't work for you, then you'll need to wait for the activity to appear on your own account).

A new window will load, where you'll see a short trailer for this activity - you'll see six locked bottles of Coca-Cola, and when you click on them, you'll see game tips about FarmVille (basic tips concerning game elements like upgrading vehicles or visiting neighbors), and you'll then be allowed to submit your progress and are offered a free coupon that you can send to your friends via the official Coca-Cola Facebook fan page.

You must click on the button within the promotion to launch the fan page in order to finally earn your 2 free Farm Cash, which will then be added to your account in the game (if it doesn't show up automatically, a simple game refresh should force it to appear.

Zynga has updated the Declare War feature so that we can go to war against our rivals instead of friends/mafia. 10 new awesome rewards and a new achievement can be attained while doing wars.Here's how you go to war. (from Official Mafia Wars Blog)

Rumble in Russia

New bosses, new fights, new rewards - Get ready for the fight event! Players will be taking on 4 bosses with the help of their mafia in order to earn a special mastery item. Each boss requires that the previous boss be defeated before progressing further. You'll need to ask your mafia for help to defeat each boss before time runs out. When your mafia comes to your aid, they'll be able to fight a boss as if they are facing the boss themselves. Those who earn the most damage per boss fight will receive additional rewards!

Make sure you have your strongest gear and weapons in tow - each boss fight will become increasingly tougher as you make your way through the levels. Only after you defeat one boss will you be able to move on to the next. When you play, you'll be rewarded for defeating each boss and earn mastery items along the way, as well as gain well-deserved bragging rights. Defeat all 4 bosses through the gold level and you'll get the Ursa Major, with 60 attack and 115 defense, as your grand prize.

The folks over at Zynga have always provided fun and exciting events on holidays and this Thanksgiving weekend is no exception. The Mafia Wars Black Friday Event started on Friday November 26 and runs through Monday November 28.

During the Black Friday Event you will find that there are many very nice items on sale a deep discounts. Here is the official notice that was posted by Zynga regarding the event.

It’s a Thanksgiving sale-abration! Get ready for huge savings for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. From November 26th through the 29th, you’ll be able to enjoy significant discounts on all items in the Marketplace. You’ll have to hurry for the savings though – sale items are only available for a limited time, so act fast and do your shopping before they sell out at the reduced prices.

While you shop, you’ll also be able to participate in the Black Friday Heist. FrontierVille Sneak Peek: Winter / Christmas Avatar Costumes

In addition to the loads of decorative, collection, and mission based items we've spotted so far this morning, we've also come across three images of unreleased Winter Holiday costumes in FrontierVille.

Similar to the Halloween costumes, these costumes are for your avatar, and we're assuming they will be available either to purchase from the Tailor Shop, or as rewards for finishing what is sure to be a large line-up of Winter Holiday themed missions.

The three costumes are (from left to right in the image above): Santa Claus Costume, Mrs. Claus Costume, and an Elf Costume.

Again, there is no guarantee that any of these items will officially be released in the game, and any information about their pricing and function is as-of-yet unknown, so keep that in mind.

FrontierVille Gift Missions arrive with quests, loot and good cheer

So, this is what they meant by repeatable. Zynga just released three new sets of Gift Missions in FrontierVille. All of which we already covered here in previews, these missions each come with a bonus item for each purchase and are available for coins.Check out each package and what you'll get below:

Home Heating (500 coins): Heating Your Homestead mission and one of five decorations Holiday Ready (1,000 coins): Holiday Decoratin' and Holiday Celebratin' missions plus one of four decorations Winter's a Comin' (2,000 coins): Winter's Journey, Winter's a Comin' and Creature Comforts missions with one of three special holiday animals
Thankfully, all these mission packs cost mere coins and can be bought over and over. Better yet, they don't seem to have an expiration date like the Timed Missions nor do they look like they're going away anytime soon. My guess is that people are going to be scrounging for coins within the next few weeks. Just don't spend too much as a lot of awesome items are incoming too.

FrontierVille 'Holiday Decoratin' and 'Holiday Celebratin' Missions: Everything you need to know

Everyone knows that decorations are more important on Christmas, Hanukkah and the other winter holidays than any other special day of the year. Just look at Clark Griswold--now there is a guy that gets it. It only makes sense that our friends in FrontierVille would feel the same way. Except without all the fake drum rolls and disappointment. Here are the two missions you can find in the Special section of the Market:

1. Holiday Decoratin':
-Craft 15 Presents
-Collect Two Pink Flowers
-Collect 10 Holly Wreaths

For this mission, you'll need to visit your friends often and harvest lots of Cotton to amass enough Ribbon and Cloth to craft 15 Presents. The two Pink Flowers come from the Wildflower Collection, which can be completed by clearing Wildflowers much like grass and rocks--just remember not to turn in the Collection before completing the mission. All the while, keep berating those friends for some wreaths, but try to return the favor because there's always one wreath in it for you.

FarmVille Unwither Ring: The one ring to infuriate them all returns

Zales? Forget them. Kay Jewelers? Kid stuff. Tiffany's? You could find that stuff in a quarter machine. What's really wowing the girls this season is the Unwither Ring. Zynga's infamous, expertly cut and set ring in FarmVille has returned for the holidays. Not only will this ring absolutely take your loved one's breath away, but their crops will never dry out and die again. OK, so all that stuff is made up, but it will keep your crops from withering for eternity. The Unwither Ring has been the target of much debate in the FarmVille world this year with claims that it either costs too much, trivializes the game or shouldn't exist altogether. For a whopping 250 Farm Cash, you can gift this item to a friend and even customize it with two band options--gold and platinum--and five gem choices: Diamond, Emerald, Pearl, Black Pearl and None for the plain folk. Lastly, you can engrave it with a cute, 140 character message. Now, I would strongly recommend not getting your girlfriend, wife or what have you this if she is not seriously into FarmVille or you could very well be alone this Christmas. But if that's your (and her) thing, then definitely take the nearly $40 plunge. Just make sure you get her something tangible, too. You know she deserves it for dealing with your sorry behind day in and day out.

Pet Society WWF Christmas Carolers bring holiday tunes and a good cause

Just like that, the carolers are already out at night, singing the joys of the holiday season that's upon us. (Can you tell that I love Christmas?) NBC's National Dog Show prances to Facebook with Dog Show Friends

Still reeling from biggest pooch parade of the year? NBC and the National Dog Show want you to relive your fond, fur-filled memories in their new Facebook game, Dog Show Friends. Designed by NBC Sports and 4mm Games, Dog Show Friends allows players to adopt a puppy, nurture and train for dog shows in competition with their friends. The game is also sponsored by Purina Dog Food, which is made crystal clear throughout, and hosted by an eerily accurate rendition of John O'Hurley.

According to Kevin Monaghan, SVP and Managing Director of NBC Sports Digital Media, "The game will allow our community of viewers to continue the National Dog Show experience long after 'Best in Show' has been awarded." Actor John O'Hurley adds, "Social gaming is fast becoming an important part of our lives and the entertaining world of show dogs – virtual or not – is a perfect fit."

ESPNU College Town: Play Lacrosse in District 4 thanks to update

Well, not literally, but you get the point. Playdom has finally unlocked District 4 for expansion in a recent update to ESPNU College Town. Players now have even more room to put all their stuff and, more importantly, fit more venues thanks to the new space. Also included in the update was Lacrosse, a new Soccer venue event that will operate much like other sports events, but again without new All Stars.

New Entertainment buildings added to the game include the Optometrist, Music Shop, Cemetery and Campground--all of which either grant coins per hour or School Spirit. The first two both cost 8 Campus Cash while the last two both go for 10 Campus Cash, which amounts to $2 and $2.50, respectively. However, the next two changes we're about to mention might be more exciting than any new content. First, Playdom has finally added the ability to move and remove roads easily. Now, all you need to do is click on the road to either move it somewhere else or remove it entirely.

Second is the Save State option. Located underneath the screen shot icon, this allows you to save then game after queuing a long list of actions like collecting from properties or adding more students. What this does is force the game to sync with Playdom's servers immediately, ensuring that none of your recent actions are undone in an unfortunate crash. This isn't a complete fix, but hey, at least this gives us an option other than, say, throwing our laptops out the window.

Treasure Isle's Design a Holiday Item Contest chills the creative juices

With yet another holiday upon us (Seriously, where do these things come from?), Zynga has decided that it wants its loyal players of Treasure Isle to design the ultimate Holiday item in another plainly titled event, the Design a Holiday Item Contest. Running today through Dec. 7 at midnight, players can submit up to three images of their item design to the contest's official forum thread.

What's even better is that Zynga will accept nearly any type of design whether it be digital, drawn in ink or whatever you fancy creative types come up with. The top three designs, chosen by the Treasure Isle Team, will be digitized and added to the Market in-game. As for the winning designers, you'll win once of each item design and a hefty 100 Island Cash. If you think you can flex your creative muscle as hard as the folks who get paid to do it, then give it a shot this holiday. Madden NFL Superstars adds Team Packs and Cyber Monday Deal

Putting those Collections together is a pain, isn't it? Playfish and EA want to help with that through their most recent update to Madden NFL Superstars. Players can now buy NFL Team Packs in the Store for various Playfish Cash prices. These Team Packs will contain a mix of players of each NFL team and require various levels to access. These packs should make completing particular Collections that much easier considering you can aim toward completing a specific team's Collection through buying Team Packs.

Also included in the update is a huge Cyber Monday Deal. For the rest of the day as of this writing, players can buy an Ultimate Card Pack bundled with 20 Game Day Tickets for 90 Playfish Cash or about $18. At just 10 Playfish Cash more than a normal Ultimate Card Pack, this deal will have you set for a long time. Not to mention that for a short while all the previous Players of the Week can be found in both Ultimate and Platinum Card Packs and they're more common than ever. You only have a few hours left, so take advantage of this update while you still can.
